Fernand 'Fern'
Laflamme
September 29, 1937 – May 30, 2026
Fernand “Fern” Laflamme passed away peacefully at his home in Westbrook, Maine, surrounded by his loved ones and family on Saturday, May 30, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1937, the son of Albert and Marie Laflamme (one of 12 siblings) in Biddeford, Maine. He graduated from St. Louis High School in Biddeford in 1956, then served two years in the U.S. Army. After completing his Army commitment, Fern started his longtime career working at First National Grocery in the meat department. At this point of his life, he met his wife of many years, Beverly, on the beach in Old Orchard. HH
Fern and Bev eventually settled in Winslow, Maine, with their four kids, Rae, Jim, Mike, and Gary. During the 37 years in Winslow, Fern met many lifetime friends, becoming a proud lifetime member (55 years) of The Elks Club, and “summered” at site #2 at Pleasant Point Campground in Oakland, Maine. There were many wonderful memories created for the entire family.
After Bev’s passing in 1999, Fern decided to fulfill his lifetime dream of living in Florida. He bought a brand new home and moved to his paradise. He was able to live there until 2025 along with his dear friend Cindy. He then relocated back to Maine to be closer to his family for his final couple of years.
Fern was predeceased by his wife, Beverly and 10 of his siblings. He is survived by big sister, Rachel Tourigny, his four children Rae and her husband Dan, Jim, Mike and his wife Lois, Gary and his wife Jill, and his four grandchildren, Erik Laflamme (JoAnne), Ryan Laflamme, Zackary Laflamme, and Tanner Laflamme.
In honor of Fern’s wishes, a funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph’s church in Biddeford on June 27th at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial service at St. Joseph’s cemetery in Biddeford, and then a reception at St. Joseph’s church.
