Elaine Winnick December 1, 2013 Scarborough - Elaine Winnick passed away peacefully on December 1 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husbands Louis (2008), her husband of fifteen years and Sylvan (1983), her husband of 38 years. Elaine loved crosswords, bingo, opera and classical music, theater, dining out, baseball and her ever-present pink lipstick. She leaves behind her daughter, Kate Moon of Portland, Maine; son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Jan of Florida; granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel and great-granddaughter, Lily; nieces Nancy and Isabel, nephews Chuck , Paul and David and their families; and Louis' daughter, Alice Larrea, her husband Memo and their extended family. Elaine was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived in many cities before moving to the Chicago area where she raised her family with her first husband, Sylvan while working as a secretary for many years. She was active in her children's schools and was a talented amateur artist. In 1983, Elaine and husband Sylvan moved to Portland to be near their daughter, Kate. Elaine's family thanks the medical staff and volunteers who cared for her so kindly and compassionately at both Mercy Hospital and Gosnell House.
