Edwin O. Thompson, Sr. December 5, 1926 January 3, 2013 South Portland- Edwin O. Thompson, Sr., 86, of Westbrook Street, passed away on January 3, 2013 in Portland. He was born in Portland a son of Ordelson C. and Mary (Dyer) Thompson. Edwin served in the Merchant Marines, U.S. Army and the National Guard Reserve. He worked for Willard & Daggett Fish Company for 15 years before retiring. He was pre-deceased by a son, Edwin Jr. and a sister, Betty Dzik. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mabel (Mahoney) Thompson; children, Sandra Leo, Thomas Thompson and his wife Nancy, Peggy Jo Dewar and her husband Michael; Paul Thompson and his wife Stephanie, Paula Coyne and her husband Pat, Claudia Silke and her husband Shaun; daughter in-law, Linda Thompson; sisters, Jean Elwell and Beatrice Butts; brother, Rodney Thompson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A graveside service at Forest City Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by A.T.
