SOUTH PORTLAND - Earl S. Kimball, 89, died peacefully on August 23, 2024, at his home in South Portland. He was born September 3, 1934, in Stow Maine, the son of the late Samuel W. and Ora I. (Smith) Kimball. Earl graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1954. After graduation he answered the call to duty by enlisting in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge he dedicated his remaining career to the grocery industry, where he worked his way up to become store manager. His decades of service were a testament to his steadfastness and deep sense of responsibility. He took great pride in his work, always striving for excellence, showing up every day with the same determination and integrity that defined his character. Earl was a man of many passions, but none greater than his love for his family. He shared a lifelong partnership with his beloved wife Priscilla A. (Rundin) Kimball, and together they built a home filled with love, joy and laughter. As a father of 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren he took great pleasure in spending time with his family, always offering his kindness and unwavering support. Earl was also a man of the outdoors, finding peace and fulfillment in nature. Whether hunting in the woods, fishing by a quiet stream, or simply sitting around a campfire under the stars, he felt most at home in the wilderness. His love for the outdoors was something he shared with all those he loved teaching them to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the world. In addition to his parents Earl is predeceased by his sister Barbara Kimball. Surviving is his wife, Priscilla, sons Robert E. Kimball and his wife Donna (Klein) Kimball, of Highland, California; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, Ronald L. Kimball and his wife Ruby (Colyer) Kimball, of Chandler Arizona; 2 grandchildren, Paul E. Kimball of Gorham Maine, Derek Laliberte and his wife Betty (Combs) Laliberte, of Hardy, Virginia; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and Earl D. Kimball and his wife Katie (Hutchins) Kimball, 1 grandchild. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his warm smile, his generous spirit, and his unyielding dedication to those he loved. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held 10 Am Friday September 6, 2024 at Forest City Cemetery, Lincoln Street in South Portland.
