Douglass W. Christopherson June 19, 1931 November 9,2016 Douglass W. Christopherson, 85, passed away November 9, 2016. His goal was to live to be 100. Doug was married to Janet, who predeceased her husband and is survived by their two children, Lance Christopherson and Kim Stebbing who both have several children and grandchildren. After several occupations in his early married years, Doug needed a more satisfying career so he went to school for drafting. While he was on a two week vacation from his job, he approached Goodspeed Architectural who let him work for free. The architect at Goodspeed was so impressed with Doug's work he kept him on as a permanent employee. The result was history, nine years of study and an architectural license was his. He opened his own office in Portland resulting in good opportunities. With their children now living in Utah, Doug and Janet followed. New architectural opportunities arose there, as well as, designing his son's house. He eventually moved back to Maine to work as a consultant on the two expansions of the Portland Jetport. As a result of that, he was asked to work for two other companies from northern Maine to do more consulting work until his recent retirement. It was a wonderful life and Doug's favorite saying was ""Now it's to infinity and beyond"", so like Yogi Berra said, ""It ain't over til it's over"". At Doug's request a private service will be held.
