Donna Marie Spaulding, 62, of South Portland, lost her short but courageous battle with lung cancer on March 28, 2018. Mrs. Spaulding was born to Everett James and Lois (Powell) Spaulding on December 8, 1955 in Concord New Hampshire. Donna was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.  She was a lighthouse in their eyes, guiding each one of them on their journey in life. She enjoyed attending her family's cookouts, sporting events, babysitting her grandchildren, and watching the Red Sox.  She was a great dart player and an avid bingo player.  She really loved going to bingo with her mother and son.  One of Donna's wishes was to see one of her grandchildren born and thankfully she was granted that wish when her youngest grandson Dominic was born. She was her daughter's best friend and son's guidance. She was that mom whose children's friends became her friends.  She was a very active person and dedicated to her community. Donna was predeceased by:  her father, Everett James and nephew, Jason Herbert.  Besides her three children, Del, Shaun, and Sarah Head and eight grandchildren, Shaun Jr., Chloe, Katelyn, Aubrey, Brooklynn, Joshua Jr., Kaylee, and Dominic, she is survived by her mother, Lois; sisters, Diana, Teresa, Anita, Cheryl, and Linda; brothers, Jim and Glen; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends she met along the way. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland.
