Obituary

Donna Lee Madison, died suddenly December 14, 2022 at her home in Portland after a chronic illness. She was born Feb 6, 1954 in Portland, the daughter of the late Donald L Madison and Philomena Nappi Madison.  Donna graduated from Portland High School in 1972. She was a lifelong Bulldogs fan and could be seen and especially heard from the stands of many football and basketball games.  Donna obtained a A.S and later a B.A. in Business Administration.   She worked at Portland Gastroenterology as a medical assistant.  Donna married Richard Gonyea in 1973.  Donna was an all breed Judge as well as a Ring and School Instructor for the International Cat Association.  She loved all animals but especially Oriental Shorthairs and Siamese Cats as well as German Shepherd Dogs.  Her greatest love was of Moose.  Donna enjoyed going into the Maine woods looking for moose, ceramics and recently knitting.  Donna was also a Reiki Master and trained in Animal rescue and CPR. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Philip.  Survivors include her brothers, Mark, Dana, John and David and sister Francine. Sister-in-Law's Charlene Cyr and Debbie Madison as well as her nieces, Angel, Abigail, Jessica and Cassie, nephews, James, Michael and great nieces Isabel, Scarlett and Hazel also great nephews Aiden, Mateo and Talon.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Peters Roman Catholic Church, 72 Federal Street, Portland Maine on Tuesday, December 20, at 10:00am Burial will be at a later date in New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.   To honor Donna, Donations made be made to Friends of the Feral Felines or National Arbor Society.
