Dennis J. McGrath1959-2015 Scarborough Scarborough Dennis J. McGrath, 56, of Scarborough, passed away Wednesday in a diving accident in Portland. A lifelong mariner, he spent every day of his life in the place he loved, doing what he loved. Dennis leaves behind so many friends and countless stories, but his purpose in life was always his family. His enduring love for his wife Katie, daughter Kelsey and son Tyler will last them a lifetime. Dennis, a graduate of Freeport High School in 1978, was a familiar and beloved face to many on the Portland waterfront. Dennis also had a wonderful gift for growing things, indoors and out. A visit to see him would always come with an invitation to try his blueberries or see the tomatoes. He is survived by his wife and two children; his mother Claudia, of Scarborough; his brothers Steve, of Fort Lauderdale; and Joey, of Chicago. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may visit with the family on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland from 5-8P.M. A Celebration of Dennis' life will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 2PM.
