Dennis Donald Knowles, Sr. August 14, 1942 October 24, 2014 Dennis Donald Knowles Sr.,72, of Portland passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2014. Dennis was born in Portland to the late James A. and Irene A. (Verry) Knowles on August 14, 1942. Dennis worked as a shoe cutter for various shoe manufacturers for many years. In addition to his parents Dennis is predeceased by his son Dennis Knowles Jr. and his sister Linda Knowles. Dennis is survived by his son Keith Knowles of Portland; his partner of 27 years Phylis Crowe; and her family: mother Pauline Pottle of Portland; sister Georgia Stevens and her husband David of Portland; brother George Pottle and his wife Michelle of South Portland; niece Terri Brenna and her husband John of North Carolina; niece Shannon Denbow and her husband Dana of Scarborough; and her great nieces and great nephews Ryan, Natalie, Alison, Owen, Griffin, and Abby.
