Dennis "Den-Den" F. Curtis August 6, 1947 February 6, 2012 North Yarmouth - Dennis ""Den-Den"" F. Curtis, 64 of North Yarmouth, passed peacefully with his family by his side at his home on February 6, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Dennis was born in Portland on August 6, 1947, the son of Franklin A. and Marjorie E. Curtis. He spent a short few years in Falmouth before the family moved to Cumberland where he attended school, graduating from Greely Institute in 1965. Dennis married his high school sweetheart and life partner, Jane Ellen Parker of North Yarmouth in 1966. Dennis and Jane built their home in North Yarmouth in 1970, where they raised their two children, Denise M. Wood or North Yarmouth and Thomas W. Curtis of Gray. Dennis worked at American Can before going to a supervisory position at Emery Worldwide and Portland Air Freight. After Jane passed in 2000, he opened his own property maintenance business that he shared with his son, Thomas. Dennis and Jane were volunteers in the community, becoming the assistant fire chief and captain of the rescue for many years, spending much time giving and helping to raise money for the rescue and Ladies' Auxiliary. Dennis loved to spend his free time hunting, fishing and telling stories at the family camp in Danforth, Maine. He is survived by his children, Thomas and his wife Saré, Denise Wood and her husband Marty, granddaughters Ashley, Ella, Samantha and Janelle, as well as a brother Wayne and his wife Kathrin and nephews Steven and Chris. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00pm at the North Yarmouth Congregational Church.
