Daniel "Tonto" Kamp July 3, 1955 June 23, 2016 Daniel ""Tonto"" Kamp, 60, of Peaks Island passed away on June 23, 2016 from Diabetes complications. Danny was born in Paterson New Jersey the son of Daniel and Dorothy Kamp. Danny's family summered in Maine visiting their grandparents on Peaks Island. The family eventually moved to Peaks Island where Danny found his lifelong home. Danny worked a variety of jobs over his lifetime from running printing presses at Casco Printing to performing maintenance on Central Maine Power's power generating equipment. Danny's passion was woodworking and everyone treasured the annual Christmas gifts he would craft. Danny's two greatest pleasures were spending time with the kids and going upta camp with the guys. Danny lived his life with an infectious smile, curious nature, helping hands, and an old islander crusty nature until the end. Danny is survived by his very close friend Carol Ridlon and her two sons Wes and Robbie. Also, he leaves behind his sister Cindy and her husband Peter Roberts of Cape Coral Florida and their children Denielle and Brian; His brother, Dean Kamp and his wife Robin of Peaks Island. Dean's children John and wife Chelsea, Christopher and Markus Kamp also Shellbe and Connor Flynn; A sister, Jennifer Ferreyra and her husband Homer and children Allison and Jeremiah of New York; Brother Joe Barra of New Jersey. The family would like to thank Hospice of Maine and Linda Hague as well as the entire staff of wing four and all of those who cared for Danny during his time at Seaside in Portland. A memorial service will be held Thursday June 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at A.T. Hutchins 600 Brighton Avenue, Portland Maine. Burial will be private.
