Christine K. George January 28, 1920 January 30, 2015 Christine K. George, 95, of Falmouth Foreside, on January 30, 2015. Christine George celebrated her ninety-fifth birthday with two sips of beer, and declining any further sustenance. She passed away two days later, with the same determination and grace that marked her life. She was born in Rushville, PA in 1920, the middle daughter of Jerome and Nellie (Bennett) Kinney. The Depression forged her late childhood, and World War II her early adult years. She learned to appreciate small considerations, to waste nothing, and suffer fools not at all. Christine was by turns a wartime fiancée, a homemaker, a traveler, a painter, an accomplished genealogist, and 40-year DAR member. Throughout, she was a Nurse. The core of her adult life was largely dedicated to helping others. Toward the end of her life, others helped her. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1977, her two sisters Helen Tripp and Cynthia Pfaff, and her beloved nephew Bill Pfaff. She is survived by her son, Eric George, his wife Mary and their daughter Libby of Cumberland Foreside, granddaughter Emily(George) Glick and her husband Sam (San Francisco, CA), and numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom maintained frequent correspondence until her death. The family is indebted to the caring staff at Foreside Harbor, particularly self-appointed Guardians Jennifer Carmichael and Lilly Flanders. All helped make her life an enjoyable one over the last seven years. According to Christine's wishes, there will be no memorial service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Port Crane Cemetery, Port Crane, NY in a private interment in the spring.
