Christine A. Gayton October 10, 1923 May 15, 2012 Scarborough - Christine A. (Watson) Gayton, of Portland and formerly of Freeport, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, surrounded by her family. One of fourteen children, she was born in Friendship, Maine on October 28, 1923, the daughter of William H. and Maybel (Hart) Watson. She grew up in Friendship and was educated in Friendship schools. Christine married George Gilbert Gayton and together, they raised five children. She was predeceased by her husband, George and their son, Robert John Gayton. Christine is survived by her children, Yvonne Risbara of Freeport, Beverly Goodine and her husband Vaughn of Freeport, Joleene Cesar and her husband Joe of Massachusetts, Dennis L. Gayton and his wife Charlotte of Windham and a daughter-in-law Judith Gayton of Freeport. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 1 - 3pm with a funeral service at 3pm at A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception at the funeral home.
