She was very a family oriented person, insuring that she instilled the value and strength of family to all of her family. As a result of this, all of her children and grandchildren have instilled these values onto their children. As a mother of seven children, she always enjoyed her children as they were growing up. Going outside to play marbles, kick the can or hide and seek with her kids were a few of the memories she would share with us. Her home was always open to the friends of her children who very often would call her mom. She opened her home to two nephews who lived with her for a while, she would council and give guidance to anyone who she thought might need it. The annual family Christmas party as well as her birthday celebrations was validations of her influence on her extended family. The entire family would gather to pay tribute to her. Charlotte enjoyed going out dancing, playing cards, knitting and her music. While she enjoyed all types of card games, she relished the opportunity to play whoever in cribbage. She claimed that hers was a natural gift at beating all comers and would laugh and tease those who lost. Over the past few years Charlotte knitted hundreds of hats and mittens for the under privileged. She provided mittens and hats for school children, the Preble Street kitchen and the Catholic charities. She took pride in being able to help others. Music and singing were all important to her. As a teenager she sang on local radio shows as a guest singer. Her dream when she was young was to make it in the music world as a singer.
