Charles "Charlie" Hunt 1948 December 8, 2014 Charles ""Charlie"" Eugene Hunt, 66, of Scarborough passed away on December 8, 2014 at a Group Home Facility in Westbrook after battling cancer. He was born in Maine General Hospital in 1948 the son of Russell B. and Gertrude L. Hunt of Scarborough. He was raised in Scarborough and attended schools there. Charlie worked for the Scarborough Public Works Department for 24 years. He enjoyed his ATV and loved his neighbors and friends around the Black Point area. A favorite past time of Charlie's was splitting wood. On Saturday Nights in the summer months, Charles could always be found at Beech Ridge Speedway. Always a loyal fan. After his retirement, Charlie attended a day program at Affinity of Portland. He made many friends who loved his sense of humor. He never missed a day! Woodworking was his passion especially making small bird houses and giving them to others. Charles is survived by his sister, Patricia Hunt and a brother Ronald and sister in-law Deborah Hunt. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Group Home in Westbrook, Woodfords Family Services, Affinity of Portland, and dedicated nursing staff of Hospice of Southern Maine for their love and compassion in caring for Charlie. A service will be held at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough in the spring.
