Charles R. Durost, Sr. December 26, 1930 May 22, 2016 CHARLES R. DUROST, SR Portlanda€""Charles R. Durost Sr. 85, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Charles was born in Portland on December 26, 1930 to the late Charles E. Christy and Doris Mitchell. Charles graduated from Deering High School and soon after married the love of his life, Theresa E. Fahey. They felt blessed that they were able to celebrate 65 years of marriage on May 7, 2016. After an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps, Charles spent 47 years employed by Sebago Inc. in Westbrook, retiring as a Purchasing Agent. Charles enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing, but his~greatest love was his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers John Christy and Richard Durost, sisters Dolores Anderson, Thelma Libby, and Mary Johnson, and daughter-in-law Kim (Carver) Durost.~ Survivors, include his loving wife Theresa, their children David Durost Sr. of Portland, Bryan Durost and his fiancée, Janet Arehart of North Carolina, Deborah (Durost) Corbeau and her husband Pierre Corbeau, Jr. of Portland, Charles Durost II and his wife Kathleen of Windham; grandchildren, David Jr., Nicholas and his wife Kelly, Jessica and Charles Durost III, Chandler Hawkes, Charesah (Hawkes) Agha and her husband Bassel; 2 great grandchildren Emily and Lauren Agha, sister Brenda Belanger and her husband, Paul, brother-in-law George Fahey and his wife Gerry, and many nieces and nephews. The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the Portland Fire and Rescue, as well as Charles' many medical providers. Private services were held on Friday, May 27, 2016.~ In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association of Maine.
