Carmelita Dorothy Botto Jackson August 1, 1930 August 21, 2015 PORTLANDa€""Carmelita (Carmie) passed away on August 21, 2015 at age 85 at Cedars Nursing Home. She was born on August 1, 1930 in Portland to Joseph Anthony Botto and Dorothy Carmelita Jordan and spent summers on Peaks Island. She was a 1948 graduate of Portland High School. She was married to Donald Jackson from 1949-1982 and they raised their family in Scarborough. Her great joys were being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, spending time on Peaks Island, baking (especially her perfect apple pie), and being a hard working employee at Fairchild Semiconductor in South Portland for over 25 years. She is survived by 5 children: Donald Jackson Jr. and wife Molly of Scarborough, David Jackson and wife Deborah of Scarborough, Darlene Jackson Curley and husband Bruce of New York City, Debra Jackson Whitcomb and husband Richard of Scottsdale, AZ, and Dorothy Jackson of Bradenton, FL. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren: Kyle Jackson of Scarborough, Adam Jackson of Kennebunk, Andrew Curley and wife Stefanie of Chicago, Peter Curley and wife Stephanie of San Francisco, Grace Curley Wilson and husband Eric of Salt Lake City, Dianne Jackson of Sarasota, FL, Melissa Jackson and fiancé Ian Crossman of Buxton, Erica Jackson of Scarborough, Matthew Whitcomb of Hollywood, CA, and 3 great grandchildren: Charles and Jack Curley of San Francisco and Skylar Crossman of Buxton.
