Obituary

Brenda E. Sileo

2026 - 1938

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, Brenda E. Sileo, of Scarborough, Maine. Brenda was born on February 21, 1938 to her late parents Leslie and Freda Warren in Richmond, England, and passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 25, 2026. In her 87 years, she lived many experiences and touched the lives of many, many people all over the globe.

Born in England into a military family, Brenda spent much of her younger years moving around to different countries with her family, and continued in her teenage years working in Europe & Africa as an Au Pair. Brenda used to share memories of her childhood during WWII, when rationing, blackouts, and evacuations were common. She attributed her upbringing to how she later lived a simple, but grateful life.

In 1959, at 21 years old, she immigrated to the United States aboard the HMS Queen Mary, and later met her first husband, a fellow Brit, Edward Robinson. She spent the early part of her first marriage traveling back and forth between the US and England with her sons, Charles and Mark, eventually settling in Connecticut.

After separating from Edward she met and married Michelangelo Rocco Sileo. Together, with his two sons Michael and Timothy, they lived as a blended family in Norwalk and Westport, Connecticut. In 1984 Brenda and Mike moved to Scarborough for a business opportunity; and within a few years their sons followed their lead and also moved to Maine.

From their home in Scarborough, Brenda and Mike ran a successful insurance business. Brenda loved working from home because most days she was surrounded by family. From her office window she got to watch her grandchildren swim in the pool, play in the yard, and share everyday moments with her. She enjoyed it so much she didn't officially retire until she was 78 years old.

Brenda was an avid reader, loved to cook, garden, and host holiday gatherings. She was fiercely independent and proud. She was an incredibly generous and wonderful friend to her family and those who had the privilege to know her. Her door was always open and she was happiest when family was with her. She treasured the visits from her siblings, Chris from England and Susan from Australia, and was always looking forward to the next visit.

She is survived by her sons Charles and Mark Robinson and step-sons Michael and Timothy Sileo. She is deeply cherished and known as Nana by her grandchildren, Michael, Corey, Erin, Kelly, Erik, Matthew, and Peyton, and by her great-grandchildren, Lily, Rowan, Aiden, June, Sophia, and Delilah. She was the oldest of her siblings, Christopher, Susan, and William being the younger and who are all still living and greatly miss their sister.

We hope that in her passing she is reunited with her late relatives, especially her parents, loving husband Mike, beloved daughter-in-law Pamela, wife of Mark, and of course her adored & pampered pets.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Dempsey Center for all that they do for Cancer patients, their families and caregivers.
