Bonnie J. Bachelder August 26, 2012 Portland - Bonnie J. Bachelder of Portland, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Bonnie grew up in Sullivan, NH attending local elementary schools and Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, NH. Bonnie also attended Keene State College. During Bonnie's work career, she was employed at Dunbar Floral Shop, UMass Boston, Maine Medical Center, Key Bank, Bank of Boston, and presently at Portland Gastroenterology Center. Bonnie met her husband Bob at St. Anselm's College while he was visiting his brother. They were married at St. Patrick Church on August 5, 1972, in Portland. During their marriage they lived in the Lewiston-Auburn area, Dorchester, MA, finally settling in their current residence on Washington Avenue in Portland, ME. Bonnie meticulously built and decorated her gardens with rocks which she had collected on every trip. She enjoyed sharing her love for Halloween with everyone. Everyone was always welcome in Bonnie's home as they were greeted with a warm smile and a tour of her extensive garden. For over 30 years, Bonnie could be seen at various sporting events around the Portland area from Little League to High School for all of her children and grandchildren as well participating herself. For the last 12 years, Bonnie and Bob have traveled the country numerous times riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles. During these years, they have developed many lasting relationships during their stops. Her other hobbies include crafts, scrapbooking, and especially clogging. Predeceased by: father; Thomas McClure, son; Robert C. Bachelder; and father-in-law Robert T. Bachelder, Sr. Survived by her husband, Robert T. Bachelder, Jr.; daughters, Jennifer Plum and her husband Duane and children Hunter and Ashael, Carrie Brady and her husband John and children Christine, Danielle, and Derrick and grandson Dallas; Courtney Bachelder and children Issiah and Jazmyne, Allison Bachelder and fiancé Paul Cumming; son, Andrew Bachelder; daughter-in-law Denise Bachelder and daughter Libbie; parents, Lyle and Patricia Peets; sister, Cathleen McClure Haynie; brother, David Peets and his wife Carrie; mother-in-law, Theresa Bachelder; sisters-in-law Catherine Martson and Theresa Turenne; brother-in-law Francis Bachelder and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4 - 8pm at A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. Prayers will be recited 10 A.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the funeral home followed by a mass of Christian Burial which will be at 11am, at St. Patrick's Church, 1342 Congress St, in Portland, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
