Obituary

Gorham - Beverley F. (Bailey) Kaherl, 95, passed away peacefully on September 6th. Beverley was born in Portland on April 19, 1922 and educated in Portland Schools. She was a factory worker during WWII and a sales associate at Porteous. She married the love of her life, Walter, on September 13, 1940.  Together they enjoyed bowling and playing cards with their friends. Bev also enjoyed sewing, baking and hosting many family gatherings at her home. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Walter who passed away in 2005, sister Barbara Welch and brother Clyde Bailey. She is survived by her daughter Janet Kaherl of Gorham, brothers George Leighton of Washington, Maine and Donald Bailey of Nevada, granddaughters Michele and husband Dan Clauson of Waterboro, and Pamela Hazelwood of Holden, Ma, grandson Retired Navy Chief Robert LeClerc of Florida, great-grandchildren Brandon, Savannah, Benjamin, Sierra, Joey, Rachel, Lauren, Bradan, Liam, great-great-grandaughter Hailey, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join in a graveside memorial at 11am on September 23 at Brooklawn Cemetery in Portland. In leiu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, 217 Landing Road Westbrook, Maine.
