Barbara Louise (Shaw) Hunt April 4, 1924 March 6, 2016 Windham Barbara Louise (Shaw) Hunt, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. She was born in Scarborough on April 4, 1924 the daughter of the late James G. and Annie (Milliken) Shaw. She was raised and lived in Scarborough. She worked for the Scarborough School Lunch Program in the 1950's. Later she enjoyed bookkeeping at L. R. Higgins Co. of Scarborough and Fairchild Semiconductor in South Portland. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, Black Point Scarborough where she enjoyed the Women's Fellowship Group with her late best friend, Gertrude Fielding. For several years, she was a Gorham Garden Club member with her daughter, Carole. Besides her devoted love for her husband, Bud, she adored all her children. She was happiest with a child on her lap and her apron on preparing another feast for family or friends. She and her husband were avid gardeners and enjoyed canning vegetables and making Pa's favorite sour pickles. Mom loves red raspberries, red roses, and red cardinals. In the garden of life, our mother was the most beautiful flower of all. Thank you mom. Your everlasting compassion, kindness and love will long be a memory all its own... .. She shared nearly 60 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Clarence (Bud) Hunt who died in 2001. Family members include her son, Robert F. Hunt and wife, Nancy Williams Hunt of Meredith, NH, daughter, Carole H. Brown and husband, Michael P. Brown of Sebago Lake, a sister, Eleanor McKenney of Saco, a cousin, Beverly Bennett of Scarborough. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Eric, Bryan, Kimberlee, Jeffrey, David and Alison, great grandchildren, Blake, Gerek, Nolan, Kevin, Noah, Jack, Alyssa, Rob, Amanda, Vanessa, Kayleigh, Jamie and great great grandchildren, Sawyer and Landen. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by sisters, Patricia Shaw Archer, Virginia Shaw and a brother, John Shaw. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in April in the First Congregational Church, Black Point Road, Scarborough at a date to be published. Private burial will be in the Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough.
