AJ lived most of his life in New York City,~Denver, CO, Grand Rapids, NE, and most recently of greater Portland, ME.~~ ~AJ moved to Portland 3 years ago following the deaths of his mother, Eileen and his sister, Lynn, to be near his father, Ted Rowland, whom he loved dearly.~ AJ~had the external crustiness of the NYC cab driver he once was, and a heart of gold.~ We are inspired by his devotion to his family and friends.~ We will miss his kindness, fierce independence, brilliant and wry sense of humor,~tremendous insight, and his insistence on thinking differently.
