Anne Mary Ferrante July 25, 1922 May 21, 2014 Anne Mary Ferrante, 91, of Hammond Street, Portland, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday May 21, 2014. Born in Gorham, NH, Annie was a daughter of Rocco and Corinna Romasco Ferrante. Annie worked as a cook in the Portland Public School System until her retirement in 1998 at the age of 75. Her love for cooking is only surpassed by her undying love of her family. Annie cared for her ailing mother, husband and brother until their passing. She has always been known as a ""spitfire"", a hard worker with a lot of personality and a lot to say. How can we ever forget at the age of 78 when a newspaper photographer captured her on the roof of her two story house shoveling snow. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She has always had a passion for Italian cooking and is well known for her infamous homemade raviolis, meatballs, spaghetti sauce and Italian nells along with many other specialties. Annie was predeceased by her husband Thomas Ferrante. She is survived by her by four children, Sandra Caron of Portland, Thomas (Joe) Ferrante and his wife Carol of Windham, Linda Olesen and her husband Stuart of Scarborough and Michael Ferrante and his wife Sherry of Buxton. Annie is also survived by her sister Katherine Guimond and her husband Whalen of Westbrook and eleven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
