Annamarie (DiPietro) Mackie July 21, 1956 July 11, 2014 Annamarie (Dipietro) Mackie, 57, of Portland, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of family and friends on July 11, 2014. She was born in Portland on July 21, 1956, a daughter of Nicholas and Katherine (Small) DiPietro. She attended Cathedral School and graduated from Deering High School in 1974. She was a homemaker for many years, taking care of her daughters. She worked at various places in the food industry, most recently as a prep cook at Bruno's Restaurant. Anna was a member of both Portland and Westbrook Eagles Auxiliaries, where she enjoyed socializing and often helped organize the special needs Christmas party. Anna loved to sing and dance. She also loved baking and cooking, known for making delicious desserts. She was a talented seamstress, known to make Halloween costumes and doll clothes, and talented with making crafts. She loved traveling, riding on motorcycles and ATVs, reading, and enjoyed most of all spending time with family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed watching Nascar and following her favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees and Chicago Bears. Her beautiful smile could light up a room, and was proud of her fashion sense as well as her Italian heritage. She is survived by husband Michael Mackie, daughters Katherine J. (Lewis) Theriault of Portland and Cynthia L. Lewis of South Portland, granddaughter Lilly Marie Theriault of Portland, her parents of Westbrook, mother in law Laurel Mackie, sister Pierina (DiPietro) Appleton, brothers Nicholas Dipietro, Concetto DiPietro, and Mario and Jennifer DiPietro, sisters in law Dian and Michael Joyce, and Peggy and George Johns, brothers in law William and Tina Mackie, James and Loretta Mackie, Russell Mackie, and Frank and Elizabeth Mackie, special friend to the end Linda Dickson, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by father in law William Mackie. Visiting hours will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at A.T. Hutchins, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 17, 2014 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 72 Federal St. Portland, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
