Andrew Michael
Michaud
Feb 16, 2000 — Aug 14, 2026
Andrew Michael Michaud, 26, passed away on August 14, 2026 at MMC surrounded by his family after a long battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was born in South Portland on February 16, 2000 to Michael G. Michaud and Anne (Ludwig) Michaud and resided in Gray.
He was a 2020 graduate of Gray-New Gloucester High School where he was thrilled to be a member of the Unified Basketball team. His favorite part of the school day was spent in the cafeteria, where he would spark up friendly conversations. He never missed an opportunity to do so.
Andrew loved to go shopping so he could connect with his community. Whether it was the mall, grocery store or Friday nights at STRIVE, he made the most out of any excursion. His wonderful sense of humor was matched by his gift for making others smile, often through a kind compliment or playful remark. Another favorite hobby was watching SpongeBob SquarePants which provided many laughs and teachable moments of how “not” to behave. He always looked forward to spending time at camp in Aroostook County with his extended family. Andrew also enjoyed taking his family with him to Disney World, thanks to Make-A-Wish Maine. Over the years, many fond memories were made with numerous Disney characters. Elsa, Anna, and Tiana were among his favorites.
Andrew is survived by his parents and dear sister Margaret, his dog Oscar, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family wishes to thank everyone at the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, the Palliative Care team, as well as the other amazing medical professionals who provided outstanding care and made him feel extra special. Support from GNGHS and The First Congregational Church of Gray has been greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life welcoming all of Andrew’s friends and family will be announced at a later date. A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton, Maine. Blood donations to the American Red Cross would be appreciated. Any memories or condolences are welcome to be shared at www.athutchins.com. Should you wish to honor Andrew’s memory, donations may be made to Maine Children’s Cancer Program or Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
