Althea Merchant September 26, 1937 January 28, 2013 Portland - Althea Merchant, 75, passed away at the Maine Medical Center on January 28, 2013. She was born in Portland on September 26, 1937, the daughter of Myron and Helen Nason. She lived for over twenty-five years at 425 Broadway in South Porltland. Althea was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Charles H. Merchant. She is survived by her children, Janice Roberts of Ashland, Robin Newton of Rochester, NH and Helen Nevers of Standish. She was also an amazing Nana to her five grown grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Althea will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be planned for a later date.
