Alphie H. Martel March 17, 1945 November 6, 2016 Alphie H. Martel, 71, passed on November 6, 2016. He was born March 17, 1945, the eleventh child of Chester and Diana Wing. Al graduated from Buckfield High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1972. He was later employed in the maintenance departments of Dirigo Management and Spurwink Services for 25 years. Al was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his partner of 30 years Buddy French; two sons Alphie S. Martel of Maine and Buddy Schroeder of Connecticut; daughter Dawn Allison of Maine; and five grandchildren. Al enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox, a good joke, and spending quality time with those dear to him. At Al's request, there will be no funeral service. He will be laid to rest with his beloved mother at Valley Cemetery in Greene, Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Al's name to Spurwink Services, 901 Washington Ave., Suite 100, Portland, ME 04103.
