Alan Clarke Rice January 20, 1962 June 15, 2013 Portland - Alan Clarke Rice, 51, of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15th, 2013 at Seaside Nursing Home after a long, tough battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Born January 20th, 1962 in Portland, Maine to Raymond and Grace (Pressey) Rice. Alan's profession as a chef brought him to various restaurants throughout the Portland area. He enjoyed many hobbies especially Yahtzee, candlepin bowling, fishing, camping, pool and cards. He thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. He will forever be remembered as a dear friend to all. Alan is predeceased by his father, Raymond, and three siblings, Annie, Lester and June Rice. He is survived by his mother, Grace Rice; his son, Joshua Mimmovich and wife, Rebecca; his brother, Robert Rice and sister, Bonnie Jensen; his nephew, Ronnie Rice and his niece, Jessie Rice; longtime best friend, Preston Cole; friend and ex wife, Karen Felker and girlfriend, Debra Fitzgerald. Visiting hours with the family will be held on Friday, June 21st from 10-12 p.m at A.T.Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m; followed by a graveside service at Brooklawn Memorial Park in South Portland for immediate family members.
