Alan R. Corcoran May 28, 1942 October 05, 2012 SCARBOROUGH - Alan R. Corcoran passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. Born in Portland, Maine on May 28, 1942, he was the son of Gerald R and Evelyn (Bakke) Corcoran. He attended local Portland schools and grew up in the East Deering section of Portland. Alan worked for the City of Portland Public Works Department for over 25 years. An avid stock car racing fan, Alan was also a member of several local fraternal organizations. He is survived by his brother Jack Corcoran, two sisters, Diane Hayes and her husband Richard and Beth Gallant and three nephews, James Corcoran, Timothy Corcoran and Jeffrey Hayes. At Alan's request, services will be private. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff and doctors at the Maine Medical Cancer Center and the Gosnell Hospice House of Scarborough for their diligent and attentive care to Alan these past few months.
