W.C. McCarty Obituary

W.C.McCarty USN ret.

4/26/1937 to 7/6/2015

After a valiant battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, W.C was called home by Our Lord and Savior.

W. C. served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1980 when he retired. W.C served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.  After serving in the military he worked on his Masters Degree in Business. Never one to just do nothing, W. C became involved by running several medical clinics throughout  the US, finally retiring for good here in the beautiful

State of Maine. He became a woodworker. This was his passion and his hobby. Making things from kleenix boxes to CD and DVD shelves. His most beautiful piece of woodwork, was the mantle piece he made for his last home which he created for the fireplace.

W.C. loved Maine, he enjoyed the winters, and Fall was his favorite time of year with the crisp air, the beautiful colors of the leaves and the temperatures being not too cold. Summer being his least favorite because the humidity and the black flies.

W.C was predeceased by his Father and Mother Frank and Mary (Raye) McCarty, his brothers Tom, Bob, Jay and an infant baby named Jack; his sisters Frances, Phyllis, Bette, and Jeanne; his loving wife Evalyn in 2008. He is survived by his Daughter Kathie of Casco Maine, his son Chris of Colorado Springs, his grandchildren Patrick, Verona and Shon; sisters Sallie and Patti both of California along with many nieces and nephews.

W.C. was a loving, kind, incredibly intelligent man, who always put others first. He continued to council people who were having difficulties and he always lent a helping hand to his neighbors. He was active with his church Clark Memorial, until his wife’s passing, when it became more difficult for him to attend. He never let on how much he missed Eve, but it was evident to those of us who loved him.

W.C has gone with those who passed before him, and he awaits those of us he has left behind.

"Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand"
