Portland- Thuu Dang, 73, of Portland, ME passed away on 9/5/19 with his family by his side. He will be remembered as a good person who was generous, kind and did not hesitate to help anyone in need. People will also remember him as a very hard worker and someone who liked to make people laugh.
Born in Vietnam, Thuu, with his younger brother, Mach, made a brave decision to move their young families to the United States in 1975. Thuu and his family settled in Portland, ME. Thuu worked hard to support his family and held many jobs including working at JJ Nissen’s Bakery for 19 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his garden, cooking and cherished extended visits to Vietnam.
He is deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, friends and many more family in Vietnam.
Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation for Thuu on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 6-8 pm at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland, Maine. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
