Samuel S. Nappi

October 2, 1961 ~ December 8, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

PORTLAND – Samuel S. Nappi, (Sam) 56, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a hard fought battle with cancer he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 2, 1961, in Portland, ME, the son of Michael J. and Antoinette (Minervino) Nappi.

Sam graduated from Portland High School and took some college classes.  While in junior high school Sam started working at Mangenios Market as a delivery boy and continued on at Nappi Distributors all through high school and years after until leaving to fulfill his own dream of being a self-employed finish carpenter which took him to many locations around the country including Maine, Key West, Philadelphia and New Jersey sharing his wealth of knowledge and great talent of being a perfectionist with many happy customers.

Sam had many interest, among them where his love of skateboarding, skiing, cooking (which everyone else enjoyed as well), and music which is what led him to teach himself how to play the guitar. Family was very important to him as he enjoyed spending time with his son going to Nascar races up and down the east coast visiting many tracks and going to numerous concerts together.  Sam also spread his wealth with his nieces and nephews and still had enough to share with his great nieces and nephews teaching him all the arts and crafts he would have up his sleeve and not to mention all the tricks he would scare them with such as the removable thumb and the dog bone tumor.  He also enjoyed making wine with his “Philly Boys” and Schmoop!!

He is survived by the love of his life Lorie Rich, his beloved son Michael J. Nappi, one brother Michael J. Nappi Jr., four sisters Lucretia Leo and her husband Daniel, Josephine Carter and her husband Mark, Lisa Nappi, and Annette Nappi, nieces and nephews Leslie, Brad, Elizabeth, Melissa, Lindsey, Kristen and Johnathan and many great nieces and nephews aka as his “grand babies”.
