Sally Jordan

Gorham – Sally Jordan, 77, passed away at the Gorham House on June 29, 2018, 2018  Sally was born to Alice Burr Jordan and Edward C. Jordan in Winchester, Massachusetts March 20, 1941.  During WWII Sally & her mother stayed with relatives in Eastport, while her father was posted overseas.  Later her family settled in Portland where she attended local schools, graduating from Deering High School in 1959.  She later studied economics at Pembroke College @ Brown University, graduating in 1963.

Sally then went to Boston where she began her work life at the Sloan School of Management at MIT where she assisted in the publication of the Industrial Management Review.  Later she joined Arthur D. Little Consultants in Cambridge, where she supported the Energy Group staff.

After visiting relatives and a friend in Texas, Sally relocated to the Austin area in 1975, where she made her home.  While in Austin she was an Office Manager and Personnel Administrator at Boone Chapman Insurance, a company that processed medical benefits.  Later she became a legal assistant and worked at several firms before retirement.

At home Sally enjoyed gardening in her yard and her dogs.  She was also active in the neighborhood association where she lived and coordinated several spring cleanups. 

Due to declining health she returned to Maine in 2013. Sally is survived by her brother, Mark H. Jordan and his partner, Margaret A. Thumm  of Raymond, niece Sarah Jordan Hollar of Exeter, NH and nephew Joshua D. Jordan of Salem Mass, and several cousins.

Family extends many thanks to the Staff at Gorham House, Winsor II  - they are caregivers that become friends & to Beacon Hospice for helping to ease Sally’s passing.

There will be a small family gathering at a future time.
