Phyllis was one of my mother's oldest and dearest friends from their early mothering days until my mom died in 2001. They remained close all those years. In my earliest childhood, we lived across the street from the Stickneys and were in and out of their house all the time. They were the first family to have a television set, and the whole neighborhood gaggle of kids---Stickneys, Harmons and Coombses---gathered there to watch Mickey Mouse until we were called home for dinner. Summer nights playing outside on Hastings Street until dark. I'm sure my mom is there to greet her with delight. Good thoughts to Martha, Chuckie (as we knew him) and Mary.
