To Michael'sFamily members, Please accept our condolences on the passing of your Loved One, Michael. To Carol and Marty I do have fond memories of us as kids even though Michael was a little younger than us. He was always a shy, friendly little guy with a sweet smile on his face . Always remember the good times!! Now the pain is gone for him and I hope he will have that Huge smile on his face when he is greeted by all those in the Family who have passed and are waiting to greet him with open., loving arms and hearts. Fondly Cousin Peg & Jack

I am Barbie Joyce, Michael’s favorite sister-in-law on the Joyce side- his only one.
Michael loved music. My mother’s favorite singer was Nat King Cole. She sent me to Forest Ave, (the present VFW Post 6859) from Leland St. behind Lincoln Junior High with filled books of S&H Green stamps to get her a Nat King Cole album. I played his song “Smile” at her funeral and have requested it to be played at mine.

Michael always greeted you with a smile thus I would like to play it for you as I believe he would want all of us to continue to smile

"Smile"

Smile tho' your heart is aching
Smile even tho' it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by

If you smile
Thro' your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shin-ing thro' for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide ev-'ry trace of sadness
Altho' a tear may be ever so near

That's the time
You must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth-while

If you just smile

Michael loved candy and his favorite candy bar was a Hershey Milk Chocolate with Almonds. Let’s raise a glass to toast Michael his Irish half would say, “Drink Up” and his Italian half would say. “Salute” and chase your shot with his favorite candy bar.

Michael you are loved and will be missed.

It was my pleasure to have Michael Joyce as my shipmate. His dry humor always had me laughing. Mike was always proud of his family and was a family man like no other. he will be missed.

To my friend and brother- Tennyson's words lived in our souls during all of our life's voyages.
I will miss you and remember you always. Farewell my friend.

"Sunset and evening star
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have cross'd the bar.

Crossing the bar
by Alfred Tennyson
