Mary Carol "Maude" (Cookson) Bragg

Mary Carol “Maude” Bragg, 75, of Arundel, passed away March 29, 2018.  She was born May 24, 1942 in Portland to Carroll and Mary (Powers) Cookson.

Mary attended South Portland schools.  She married William “Spike” Bragg in South Portland on November 1, 1958.  She was a loving mother who raised her family.  She was also a dedicated caregiver to her husband for over 23 years after he suffered an industrial accident.

Mary was a private person, but kept everyone around her happy.  She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, painting, long drives, trips to Prince Edward Island to visit cousins, and especially being with family.

Mary was preceded in death by:  her parents, Carroll and Mary Cookson; husband, William B. Bragg; and sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ed Anderson.  She is survived by:  her children, Penny Arno and her husband, Kevin of Westbrook, Tina Brooks and her husband, Travis of Saco, and Bill Bragg and his wife Val of Arundel; brothers, Howard Cookson and his wife, Laura of Georgia and Steve Cookson and his wife, Joann of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Lil Brackett and her husband Perley of Scarborough; grandchildren, Trisha-Marie Bragg of Saco, Nicholas Arno and his wife, Karen of Westbrook, Candace Arno and her fiancé, Geno Richards of Rumney, NH, Sandra Bragg of Arundel, and Jessica Bragg of Arundel; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Pearl, and A.J. McLaskey; numerous other extended family members; and best friend, Nicey.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Brooklawn Memorial Park.
