Mabel “Peggy” Almeda Thompson, 88, of South Portland passed away on November 3, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Surry, Maine, the daughter of John and Nellie Mahoney. Peggy worked various jobs while raising seven children.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Edwin O. Thompson Sr. and her son, Edwin “Eddie” Thompson Jr. She is survived by her children, Sandra Leo, Thomas Thompson and his wife, Nancy, Peggy Jo Dewar and her husband, Michael, Paul Thompson and his wife, Stephanie, Paula Coyne and her husband, Pat, and Claudia Silke and her husband, Shaun; daughter-in-law, Linda Thompson; 7 sisters; 4 brothers; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Willows Pizza and Restaurant, 740 Broadway, South Portland. A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
