Nanny Louise was our foster grandparent at the PATHS Early Learning Center for many years. She was the most faithful volunteer we ever had in our classroom. Other teachers in the Portland system who had experience working with Louise were so jealous of her transfer to PATHS ELC. She was a favorite (of course) of the 4 year olds, an inspiration to the high school students and a good friend, especially over our break times each morning where we would share the morning paper and comments about politicians of the "opposite party". We enjoyed the annual Foster Grandparent appreciation luncheons together, and it was easy to see that she was a favorite among her peer group and the Foster Grandparent staff at Opportunity Alliance. We dreaded the day that she had to end volunteering as it was no longer wise for her to be around lots of little ones with colds and sniffles. That you for your years of service to Portland children, Nanny, you have touched so many lives!

Fond memories of all the times in the hood with you four and your mom always there to offer advise or keep David and Wayne from causing serious harm to each other or disciplining Wayne for teaching Ellen another naughty word. My condolence to all of you. She was a great woman.

We are so sorry for your loss....she helped make Madelyn's stay at the Barron Center a little more bearable. She will be missed by Madelyn Landry and family. Louise is a very sweet woman... Hugs to you all....
