I am sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a loved one to the enemy death is never easy to endure. We can take comfort from the Bible at (Revelation 21:3,4) “there will be no more suffering nor dying and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes. The former things have passed away. May this bring you and your family a measure of peace and comfort.

We are so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. While we didn't know her well, we often visited her while staying at Mort and Deb's cottage. She was always happy to see us even when another year had passed and we'd have a good talk. We first met Jean when Mel would walk Cassie past the cottage and our little white dog would go bonkers barking at her from the cottage door. Cassie would just look over as though saying, "what's that racket. Oh is that all?" And we got to talking to Mel at that point. Thereafter we'd stop by the beautiful house on the water to say hi.

My mom, Margaret Brown, asked me to let you know how saddened she was to hear of Jean passing away. She has many fond memories of Jean, Lenore and herself growing up in Sheffield Mills. In fact a picture of the three of them riding a cow hung in Mom's living room.
I grew up hearing stories about the things Jean and Mom would get up to. Mom always looked forward to phone calls and Xmas cards from your mom.
Hugs to your families at this time....

To all of Jeans Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss - we met Jean and Mel several years ago while visiting Mort & Deb Gundersen in Harpswell, Maine. Being fellow Canadians, we had a special friendship with Jean through the years - what a wonderful women! We had visited with Jean and Mel on our trips to Maine over the years, and just again this August with Jean.
I'm so glad we stopped in - Smitty was definitely taking good care of her (wouldn't leave her side!). Patricia was so welcoming and kind with all of us and was taking wonderful care care of Jean!
I know that my husband and I were always touched by both Jean and Mel's hospitality and love of life - may both of their spirits live on in all of your families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time! We were blessed to have known them!
Regards,
Dave & Julie Hand
