Hearing that your father died so close in time to your mother's passing made me feel both sad and nostalgic. Gilbert and Theresa were wonderful neighbors to our family and they set a great example of kindness and good humor for all of us. Gilbert's passing really marks the passing of a family/neighborhood/generational era. I'm sure that his death leaves a large empty space in the lives and you and your families. Though I am still in the County and won't be able to make it to his services, I am so glad that I got to see him and all of you at your mother's visiting hours. His big, bursting, jovial smile from that day will be an indelible memory of him for me. I'm sure each of you has many positive memories that will keep him alive for future generations of Donatellis.
