Evelyn M. Jensen

South Portland Maine -Evelyn M. Jensen, 89, beloved wife of Viggo Jensen passed away at Mercy Hospital on Jan. 1, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn had a wonderful career of over 20 years at Mercy Hospital, first as a CNA, then after graduating from the Practical Nursing program at SMVTI continued on as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Maternity Ward.  She was so proud to have been able to care for the mothers and their newborns who were born there. After her retirement she and Viggo lived in Florida for many years then returned to their Maine roots. They drove back to Florida every winter for several years to enjoy the warmth.  When home in Maine they both loved to drive around New England visiting the places she grew up.

She was predeceased by her grandson Andrew Campbell.

She is survived by three sons, Frank Ham Jr, wife Carla, James Ham, Peter Ham and is wife Martha. She also leaves three daughters, Jeannie Ham Odom, her husband Ralph, Patti Ham Campbell and Carla Jensen Gedney and her husband John, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no services until she can be laid to rest with the love of her life, her beloved husband of over 50 years, Viggo.
