Edwina C. McKay

Edwina McKay, 78 of Scarborough, a loving wife and mother, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a long battle with heart disease; she was surrounded by her loving family.

Edwina was born in Portland on June 26, 1939, the daughter of Corrine James and Edward Cummings and was educated in area schools. Edwina worked for many years at various businesses throughout the Portland area. Edwina loved visiting family and friends, crocheting, shopping, long scenic drives, eating out and animals.  

Edwina was preceded in death by:  her husband, Al, whom she married on December 8, 1956 until his passing on July 10, 2008; twin sons, Albert and Alan; mother and father; and one sister, Velma Williamson. She leaves behind:  her 4 children, James McKay and his fiance Wanda of Wesbrook, Linda McMann and her husband Michael of Scarborough, Gregory McKay of Portland, and Timothy McKay, of Scarborough; sister, Louise Waterhouse and her husband Alan of Scarborough; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Edwina will be sadly missed by her family and close friends, especially Betty Lou and Jackie, as well as, her beloved dog Gi Gi.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctor’s that were involved in Edwina’s care at Maine Medical Center.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held in the spring at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.

Arrangements are under the guidance of A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave. Portland Maine.
