Chris Allyn Murphy

Chris Allyn Murphy, 65, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017.  

He was born in Portland, Maine to Angelina Frisco and William Murphy.  He attended Portland schools and graduated from Portland High in 1971. In 1973, he married his high school sweetheart Janice Whitmore. 

He was a Portland police officer for 21 years and for the last 19 years, he found a fulfilling second career at TruGreen, serving as Manager in the Westbrook office for the last two years. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Angelina and William, his brothers Robert and William Murphy and nephews Scott Pardue and David Murphy. 

He will be greatly missed by Janice, his wife of 44 years, his sister Charlene Pardue, brother Kevin Murphy and his wife Jill; by his children, daughter Cara Rousselle, her husband David and their daughter Abigail, daughter Jennifer Samuela, her husband Peter and their daughters Aria and Leila; as well as his loving in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday September 2, 2017 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Avenue in Portland. A memorial service will be held immediately following visiting hours at the funeral home.

If you wish, donations may be made in his memory to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine.
