Tina M. Browne March 30, 1975 March 12, 2012 Tina Marie (Rice) Browne, of Falmouth, ME lost her fierce battle with Ovarian Cancer on March 12, 2012. Tina was born on March 30, 1975 in Portland, ME. She was the beloved daughter of David Rice and Penelope & Ben Diaz (who never referred to her as anything but his daughter). In her final days, Tina was surrounded by family and friends who were grateful for her devoted love and friendship. Although Tina's life was cut short by her illness, it was full of determination, tenacity and sheer will to create the best life possible for herself, her family and her friends. A 1993 graduate of Westbrook High School, Tina was a stellar student graduating in the top 10 of her class. In the fall of 1993, she attended Louisiana State University on a full academic scholarship where she received her Bachelor of Science/Kinesiology. It was in Baton Rouge LA that Tina became a life long Tiger. GEAUX! She went on to pursue her Masters Degree at LSU & ultimately attended UNE where she received her Masters of Science/Physician Assistant. Tina loved her work at Maine Medical Center and was passionate about her practice and those she worked with. In 2002, Tina met her soul mate and future husband Kevin Browne. Tina and Kevin built a fantastic life together and celebrated their marriage on June 12, 2004. Their time together was full of travel and adventure, leaving no stone unturned. With all of this success and accomplishment Tina's most cherished role began on August 9th, 2005, when her beloved daughter Calia Katherine was born. Tina and Kevin were blessed again when they welcomed a son, Nolan Kingsley, to their family on March 20th, 2008. It was in this role as Calia and Nolan's mother where Tina's star shone the brightest. Their family time was spent enjoying the outdoors, hiking, biking, skiing and traveling. She loved doing 'girlie' things with Calia; shopping and mani/pedis and snuggling with Nolan watching Lion King too many times to count. They enjoyed annual family trips to Stowe, VT. Tina's love and devotion to her children was unwavering even in her final weeks. Along her journey Tina created countless friendships. Her commitment and time spent with her friends were among her most treasured memories. Tina always enjoyed many special gatherings with the girls in the family which were full of stories of the past and lots of laughter. The love of her family and friends helped guide Tina through her courageous battle and she always returned those gestures ensuring that her family and friends were cared for in their time of need. She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Arthur Kingsley Rice. She is survived by her husband, children, and parents as well as grandparents Janet Rice Brown, Thomas Johns,and Katherine Cannon and several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at A.T. Hutchins, LLC Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 1 pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 43 Foreside Road, Falmouth.
