Timothy Paul Pettis

Timothy Paul Pettis, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on December 17, 2024 He was born on January 4, 1937 in Portland, the son of Francis J. Pettis and Mida (Peterson) Pettis. He attended Portland High School and served in the military from January 11 1955 to December 17 1957. He started his 41 year career at Nissins Bakery in 1958 as baker. Timothy grew up on Greenleaf St. in Portland with his 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He married Patricia (Binette) Pettis on May 17th 1958 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. They went on to raise 5 children where they lived on Munjoy Hill and later East Deering. He enjoyed coaching his son’s little league team called Breggy’s oil. He was a quiet man but his love for his family always shined through. He was the most kind, caring, and devoted father and grandfather. He will be sadly and deeply missed. He was predeceased by his father Francis J. Pettis; his Mother, Mida (Peterson) Pettis; his sister Norma (Pettis) Gribbin; his brother Mike Pettis; and brother Bobby Pettis. His is survived by his wife Patricia (Binette) Pettis of Scarborough; his brother David Pettis and wife Linda of Kennebunk; his sister Elinor (Pettis) Fogg and husband Raymond of Gray; his Sister-in Law Judy Ingerowski and Husband Bob of Scarborough; his daughter Kimberly (Pettis) Dunton and husband Dean of Portland; his son Timothy Pettis of Raymond; his son Michael Pettis and husband Len of Buxton; his son Scott Pettis of Portland; his son David Pettis of South Portland; 8 grand children Jami Dunton and Samantha Dunton of Portland; Jacob Dunton of Florida; Christina (Pettis) McDonough of Portland; Stephanie Pettis of Portland; Melissa Pettis of Portland; Justin and Sophia Clark of Buxton; and 6 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 27 from 1 to 3 p.m at A.T. Hutchins Funeral and Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave. in Portland.
