Mary Susan Cail June 10, 1924 August 14, 2016 Portland - Mary Susan (Lewis) Cail, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 14, 2016. She was born June 10, 1924, in Boothbay Harbor, the youngest daughter of nine to Raymond and Kate Lewis. After graduation from Boothbay Harbor High School, she entered the cadet nursing program at Maine General Hospital (now MMC) training as an RN during World War II. After completion she met and married Richard D. Cail sharing 69 years together. Mary and Richard raised 5 children. After raising her children, she resumed her nursing at Portland City Hospital now the Baron Center. Mary was a member of the North Deering Congregational Church and the Corner Stone Chapter OES. She will be remembered for her love of family, along with her warm, caring and friendly personality. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She was predeceased by her parents, her two sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Cynthia Doiron (Roger), son Richard (Lynn), daughter Lorraine Beaulieu and partner James Johnstone, son Herbert (Lori), and daughter Susan; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law June Harbaugh; and surrogate son Charles Doughty (Tonya). Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Thursday August 25, 2016, at the North Deering Congregational Church, 1364 Washington Ave, Portland, ME 04103. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 672 Stevens Ave, Portland.
