Frederick Leemont Estey

Frederick Leemont Estey October 12, 1935 May 17, 2016 (Known as ""Rusty"" to most of his Friends) Frederick Leemont Estey, 80 of Steep Falls, formally of 37 Strathmore Road South Portland, passed away on May 17, 2016 at the MMC surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. Frederick Leemont Estey is being remembered by his family and friends as a very devoted family man that always put his family first, being overly-generous and giving advice to many on how important live values are. Fred was born in Caribou on October 12, 1935, to Harold and Beulah Beckwith Estey. He graduated from South Portland High school in 1956. After graduating he honorably served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. He married the love of his life, Mary Catherine Nee on June 7, 1958 in Portland, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He worked for JJ Nissen Bakery for 41 years. He was also the president of the JJ Nissens 25 year club, which he proudly organized for 25 years. After his retirement from Nissen's he began his second career, in which, he and his son Ed opened up The Right Sub in South Portland. He was so happy to work with his son Eddie side by side for 20 years. Fred is survived by his wife of Steep Falls and three children; Frederick M. Estey of Scarborough, Lisa M. Estey of Portland, Edward T. Estey and his wife Dawn of Steep Falls. Seven Grandchildren; Maliea and husband Andrew, Tai-Van, Evan, Zackery, Eddie, Jacob, and Samuel Frederick. One sister; Justine Lavassure of Minestoa, two brothers; Ronald Estey of South Portland and Wellington Estey of Florida. Also survived by a very special sister in law; Bridget Gallager of England, two brother-in-law; John and Dennis Nee both of England, and by several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to visiting hours from 5 - 7pm on Monday, May 24, 2016 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral & Cremation Services, 660 Brighton Ave, Portland. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11am. Interment will follow Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
