Edward Francis Cogswell, Sr. December 14, 2013 Scarborough - Edward Francis Cogswell Sr., 94, of Portland Maine passed away December 14, 2013 at the Maine Veteran's Home of Scarborough with his loving family by his side. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth I. Cribby on June 28, 1947. He was the son of John D. Cogswell and Martha Horneff. He attended Portland Schools, enlisted in the Army and served in World War II. He worked for C.M. Rice Paper Company for forty two years. He loved golf and enjoyed the game well into his eighties. He loved being at the Casino with his family playing the slot machines, The Wheel of Fortune being his favorite. Another one of his joys was his cooking Sunday dinners and his many cookouts through out the years and he wouldn't sit down and eat until everyone was fed. He was immediately loved by all who met and knew him and was amazed that people thought he looked twenty years younger than what he actually was. We would like to send out a very special thank you to Stan and Shane Dobson who not only helped take care of him but treated him like he was their own dad along with their brother Stephen White, who predeceased him. He was predeceased by his loving wife, his parents, his brothers John, George, Billy, Frank, Charlie and Jimmy; His sisters Ora, Lillian, Martha and Viola; His Grandsons John Christopher Cogswell and Kevin James Sparks II. He is survived by his son Edward F. Jr, his wife Pat, his daughter Molly Harvey her husband Skip, his son John his wife Cathy, his daughter Jamie Amergian and her companion Rich Arey and his daughter Maggie Sparks as well as his brothers Walter and Thomas Cogswell, fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren with the twentieth to be born in January and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Maine Veteran's Home who took not only good care of him but also his family. Kudos to them, you were all so awesome!!! Thanks as well to Casco Bay Dialysis for all the years they took such loving care of him and the Beacon Hospice. We wish to thank his honorary families the Dobson's, the Napolitano's, Jackie Grant and who in later years became and remained very close and loyal friends Tony and Frank.
