Arthur Latini was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Portland, Maine to Joseph and Mary Latini. He attended Portland High. He worked at the Bewitched Inn in Scarborough at the family business. He then went into the army. He then married his beloved wife Elizabeth in 1953. He was a Mason for 20 years for various companies. He then worked for the City of Portland for 15 years between the exposition building and Riverside golf course. After retirement, he worked at Shaw's for about 8 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church most of his life. He volunteered at the church Bazaar every August for many years with his wife. He was a member of the holy name society and the Italian heritage center. He was a coach for 2 years for farm league baseball in his early years. He also was on a bowling league for 2 years. He played golf for many years. He volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen with his wife after retirement. He did that for many years. He gave to his favorite charities throughout the years. He was married 61 years and had 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Family time was important to him, like getting together with relatives, Sunday breakfasts after church and family dinners on Sundays. He loved his pasta fasul. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, son Matthew and sister Gloria. He leaves behind his son Joseph Latini, daughter Suzanne Latini Gikas,her husband Matthew Gikas, grandsons Joseph Wilson, Nathaniel Gikas, Jacob Gikas, brother Henry, sister Eleanor, 4 nephews and 2 nieces, 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen at 307 Congress Street, Portland Maine 04101. The family would also like to thank the staff at Falmouth by the Sea and St Joseph's while in their care.
