Steven Victor Callow October 22, 1965 January 18, 2012 Portland - Steven Victor Callow, 46, of Peaks Island, passed away unexpectedly January 18, 2012. Stevie was born October 22, 1965 in South Weymouth, Massachusetts to Richard and Martha Callow. On January 1, 1970, the family moved to Peaks Island, where Stevie grew up attending Brackett Memorial Church, Peaks Island School and graduated from Portland High School in 1984. Steven was a very skilled craftsman; whether it was carpentry, furniture making, or auto body, he excelled in them all. For over 20 years Stevie worked at Harbour Auto Body in Portland. He also put his talents to work building and remodeling numerous homes on Peaks Island. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and had a great love for Peaks Island. Steve loved camping, boating, fishing and especially hunting. Every fall, he spent all his time in the woods scoping and tracking the largest deer possible and was a proud member of the Big Bucks Club. Steven found great joy spending time with close friends and family, always had a smile on his face, and effortlessly spread his smile and laughter to those around him with his quick wit and charisma. Survived by his daughter Danielle Callow, her fiancé Keith Ivers, granddaughter Lydia Ivers, soon to be born grandson, Phoenix Steven Ivers, of Peaks Island, daughter Meaghan Kennie of Westbrook, and son William Tyler Callow of Old Orchard; his parents Richard and Martha Callow; brother Richard Callow Jr., his wife Nancy of Peaks Island; sister Robyn Callow of Peaks Island; sister Patricia Bernheim and her husband Robert and their three daughters, Sarah, Rebekkah, and Lilja of China, Me.; sister Pamela Wood and her companion Mark Gombar, and her daughter Taylor, of Scarborough; brother Michael Callow and his wife Anne-Marie and their three daughters Michelle, Kiley, and Lily of South Portland; sister Jennifer Feeney and her husband Joseph and their daughter Gabrielle of Scarborough; brother Samuel Callow of Peaks Island; brother Christopher Callow of Peaks Island; Ernest Callow and Danylle of Maine; Also, survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Stevie's life on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland, with visiting hours from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with a memorial service following at 1:00 PM.
